Trump Rally Student Says Aunt Jemima Was 'Picture of the American Dream'

BY SEREN MORRIS ON 6/24/20 AT 5:40 AM EDT

Astudent at the Trump Rally in Arizona on Tuesday said Aunt Jemima was a "picture of the American Dream."

Reagan Escudé said: "Aunt Jemima was canceled. And if you didn't know, Nancy Green, the original, first Aunt Jemima, she was the picture of the American dream. She was a freed slave who went on to be the face of the pancake syrup that we love and we have in our pantries today."

"Aunt Jemima was canceled... She was the picture of the American dream. She was a freed slave who went on to be the face of the pancake syrup." -- A student at Trump's event on Tuesday pic.twitter.com/jgONhiXiza

"She fought for equality and now the leftist mob is trying to erase her legacy. And might I mention how privileged we are as a nation if our biggest concern is a bottle of pancake syrup."

until the Quaker Oats Company preemptively decided to rebrand the product. This young lady is an idiot.

Nancy Green was a former slave who took a job playing a character that perpetrated an extemely racist stereotype just to make ends meet. If that's the America dream, wake me the fuck up.

... we've heard this before. "Obama was Black and he became President." "Look at wealthy Oprah Winfrey." "What about the Cosby Show." "Sammy Davis Jr is popular." ""Everyone loves Ella Fitzgerald." and so on... I think people try to say racism and bigotry are no longer problems when they say this... "Jemima" being successful is a way to make people feel better and say there are no problems.

You can look her up. Glenn Beck has her on his show. She posted gospel on social media about or to BLM.

"But Green did not die a millionaire. In fact, she could not live off the earnings she made from her portrayal of Aunt Jemima, and continued to work as a housekeeper until a few years before her death in 1923."

At almost 80yrs old. She worked till she was run over by a car.
