Three big takeaways from Trump's awful new admission about Putin
President Trump just admitted in a new interview that during his recent conversation with Vladimir Putin, he didnt ask the Russian leader about the news that Russia might have paid bounties to Taliban-linked militias for the killing of U.S. troops.
Because Trump is often so unabashedly shameless about his corrupt motives and his prioritizing of his own interests above all else, his efforts to justify his conduct frequently end up incriminating him further. Thats the case here as well in a particularly troubling way.
Asked by Axioss Jonathan Swan if he brought up this issue in his July 23 call with Putin, Trump blithely said he had not.
No, that was a phone call to discuss other things, Trump replied. And frankly, thats an issue that many people said was fake news. Trump further confirmed: I have never discussed it with him."

It can't be more obvious that this Republican president is a traitor to his own country.

Delarage
(2,186 posts)The media needs to step it up on this. He claims to be pro-military, but cedes ground to Russia at every opportunity and probably has the White House all bugged up after his private visits with them.
He also:
- Skipped out on Viet Nam by lying about fake bone spurs.
- Allowed air craft carrier captain to be fired for trying to protect his troops from COVID-19.
- Says nothing about Russians paying bounties for the lives of US troops.
- Says he knows "more than the generals" (who have actually served).
- Says he survived his own personal Viet Nam by avoiding STDs.
- Tried to politicize the military during the clearing of Lafayatte Square incident.
- Previously broadcast navy ship movements during his self-created, almost nuclear war with N.
Korea.
....and probably hundreds of more examples.
