'This Is, In Fact, A Coup Attempt, We Had Best Treat It That Way': The ACB Rush

Nov. 9, 2020. 'Yes, This is, In Fact, A Coup Attempt - Or Rather, We Had Best Treat it That Way.' Daily Kos.

Vox gets it. And we need to take it seriously.

As we speak, a party-wide, national effort is underway to not only undermine the legitimacy of the election in the minds of voters, and not only to gin up a violent, radicalized base of 70 million people already in a state of pain and despair, but to simply steal the election, using every lever of power at the Republican party’s disposal.

1) This is an attempted coup, even if it seems on it’s face to be a doomed out of the gate.

With this action, we know that Bill Barr is attempting to wield his power as the head of the DOJ to put armed agents into the mix of counting votes. There’s no evidence, but he’s authorizing this anyway, and he’s not doing that for show. We should believe that this is an authoritarian move, because Barr is an authoritarian. This is what authoritarians do. We already know he’s not interested in protecting and defending the constitution.

2) Making fun of this coup attempt will not stop it from progressing.

Yes. This is absolutely bonkers. But that doesn’t matter when an authoritarian regime is attempting to subvert democracy in the name of establishing total power. It doesn’t matter how outlandish the lies are. It doesn’t matter how demonstrably false their actions are. What matters is what they can do, and what they are willing to do.

They can do anything their power allows them to. They have already been willing to commit textbook acts of genocide at the border. Why wouldn’t they subvert the rule of law in order to retain power and protect themselves from prosecution?

3) The Republican Party is aligning behind this strategy, with major players from across the various states parroting talking points and showing themselves willing to subvert the democratic process in order to subvert the will of the people.

In Georgia, as noted above, the two candidates for Senate have called for the ouster of the Republican Secretary of State. He has (so far) refused, holding out some hope for democracy. But now the Governor is involved, and he’s not on the side of the Angels...

1. Pompeo promises "smooth transition to second Trump administration"

Yes. It's a coup! They're right out in the open about it. Secretary of State Po9mpeo was asked whether he would support a smooth transition, and he said "there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration." He's not joking.

Add to that what fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper said in an interview published yesterday,

“At the end of the day, it’s as I said — you’ve got to pick your fights,” he told the Military Times on Nov. 4. “I could have a fight over anything, and I could make it a big fight, and I could live with that —why? Who’s going to come in behind me? It’s going to be a real ‘yes man.’ And then God help us.”

Let that sink in. Mark Esper, a 'yes man' hand picked by trump to support him in his dealings with the military, is so worried about what the 'yes man' who trump picked to replace him will do, that he's invoking God's help.

Yes! It's a coup! And the longer the election process drags on, the more power trump in consolidating to hold on to the reins of power. Who's going to stop him? Republicans are egging him on. The House has no power.

Who's going to stop him? Remember, the military chain of command goes directly to the President. The military leadership that might be more loyal to the Constitution than the President has been decimated and replaced in every service with 'yes men'. Don't suppose they'll rally to the new un-installed President elect.

This is hairy.

Secondly, you think WE will not head to SCOTUS when a fair election with no evidence of fraud is being seriously threatened?

You think SCOTUS after their rulings right b4 the election regarding voting law in PA and MI stating that elections and election laws are up to state legislatures ..NOT governors NOT a US AG..are going to hand the election to dotard?...really?

So what does the governor of GA think he can do? Sure he can fire the SOS..so. Doesn’t change the vote count. They can’t find any fraud because there isn’t any! They have no evidence

Please please stop.. these are delay tactics at best.
