On this day in 1913, #RosaParks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama.

While best known for her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott, it was neither the beginning nor the end of her activism.

In 1944, Rosa Parks investigated the sexual assault of Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old African-American woman who had been raped by six white men, in a town two hours southeast of #Montgomery. Parks led a national campaign to stop sexual violence against black women.
