What the hell is going on with Ted Cruz's hair?

Ted Cruz is in the news again, to no one on terrestrial Earth's surprise.

What may be of note, however, is the nature of this most recent Cruz News. Namely, that the Texas senator appears to have sprouted a mullet out of hot blue nowhere.

Cruz arrived at the Capitol Building Friday to observe-cipate (observe while somehow also actively participating) in another day of former President Donald Trump's ongoing second impeachment trial. Television viewers were quick to notice that Cruz's haircut had suddenly come to take the shape of a once-promising Triple-A reliever's.
