Paul Ryan: We Must Pass My Austerity Budget to Avoid Austerity

Last edited Mon May 21, 2012, 06:32 PM - Edit history (1)

Paul's budget is more of the same..... Growth for himself and his rich friends, tax cuts, and handing the bill to the middle class whom I believe he sees as the drivers of this countries debt....

"Ryan's budget cuts spending by $5.3T over the next 10 years, including basically ending Medicare -- while giving huge tax cuts to rich people. That's the definition of austerity.

Oh, and if Ryan's so worried about "getting our borrowing under control" -- why does his budget make the debt worse?

The fastest-growing federal program in Ryan’s new budget is interest on the debt, which nearly triples from $234 billion next year to $614 billion in 2022. He doesn’t even pretend to balance the budget until 2040, and then only under utterly dubious assumptions.

By now, everyone knows Ryan's a fraud. But this latest bait-and-switch -- accusing the Democrats of being the ones who want austerity -- is pretty jaw-dropping."http://crooksandliars.com/blue-texan/paul-ryan-we-must-pass-my-austerity-bud

I distinctly heard him say, "{something to the effect of} My budget DOES include increased revenue ... through the closing of loopholes and moreso through growth."

I thought I misheard, so I tevo-replayed it ... Yep that's what he said.

I commented to my wife, closing the loopholes, even though the specific loopholes are never mentioned, would possibly increase revenue; but counting on growth to claim revenue increases is a lot like saying, "My future is secure ... because I'm gonna win the lottery!"
