Portland Protesters cause nearly $20,000 in damage to Boys & Girls Club
On a sunny Tuesday morning, Terry Johnson, chief executive officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area, watched as workers attached boards over shattered windows and doors lining the front of a club in Northeast Portland. The night before, protesters calling for racial justice caused nearly $20,000 in damage to the club, which houses services for mostly Black and brown children and families in Portland.

The organizations Blazers Club, which is closed Tuesday as it undergoes repairs, was one of several buildings damaged during Monday nights protest, which saw about 80 people marching from Woodlawn Park to the Portland Police Bureaus North Precinct. Last nights event was one in a string of recent protests that have culminated in vandalism and police declaring an unlawful assembly.
After 9 p.m., protesters began marching south along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard toward the North Precinct, across the street from the Blazers Club. Along the way, some in the crowd smashed windows and caused damage to a Popeyes restaurant, a U.S. Bank building and an ATM.

Protestors are legit. The anti-government anarchists are not.

One would have to ask themselves at this point what are my goals and what am I accomplishing by just protesting.

The left-wing protesters began by marching from Director Park through downtown, smashing glass storefronts at locations including the Nike store near Pioneer Courthouse Square, the Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chao, a Verizon business and a bank.

they seem to be anarchists (this is what I see looking at the reporting)

Responding officers then allegedly saw Camello, who was also listed as Andrea Mun in court documents, spray paint an antifa symbol on a bus shelter, and then arrested Miranda and Camello. Antifa is a general description of the far-left-leaning militant groups that resist white supremacists at demonstrations and other events.
On Tuesday, Miranda entered a no complaint to a criminal mischief charge, with the other still standing, and Camello is still facing a riot charge and two charges of criminal mischief in the first degree, based on court documents available Tuesday afternoon. Both Miranda and Camello are up for arraignments on June 23.
ETA: I see you also write anarchists. I don't know how they are aligned with right wing groups though. I know a few anarchists in my town, they are left wing (very, I guess you could say) - just graduated from college - full of energy and - well. Opinion.

At some point, these folks need to be arrested. Legit protesters could help. I bet MOST of them are already filming the activities. They need to turn it over to the police, when something like this happens.
Also, some of the disrespect for the police needs to stop. All cops are NOT b-tards. They are not. Sure, there is a problem. We need to address it.
We need (as a country) to back legit reforms. Not embolden kids/young adults (and more) with pithy slogans that are inaccurate and don't represent the kind of country we want.
As a social worker, I've called the police a few times for situations that cannot be solved by 'talking'. They kept us all safe. We need the police.
