Getting Rid of Trumpism Requires Continually Going Back to the Ballot Box

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2021/07/removing-influence-of-trumpism-american.html

81 million registered voters, or actually 84 million if you include everyone who didn't vote for Trump in 2020, answered the call to rid the country of Trump and end his presidency. But his "make deals and ignore the constitution" approach to governing is still out there and that means that the danger to America's democratic republic still exists. But "Trumpian Anti-Democracy" needs to be neutralized and its potential influence eliminated. There is only one way to do that and that's for each of those 84 million voters to keep turning out and continue to vote against Trumpism. Even if your county treasurer or your local dogcatcher runs for election and they supported Trump, vote against them.

1. RIGHT! WE MUST ALL VOTE!

Everybody: Please VOTE! Whenever possible! And help others vote!

2. You are presuming a traditional comfort zone paradigm that no longer exists

Now that many state legislatures can reject election results they don’t like, 100% turnout can’t counter that, especially when thousands will be purged from voting rolls, thousands more denied their right to cast a ballot, and thousands more will have their ballots rejected and not counted.

Focusing on traditional GOTV in elections is a naive fantasy when the right to vote is being dismantled in state after state.

The fight is NOW, in the streets, not at the ballot box in November 2022- by then, it will be too late if voting rights legislation isnt passed.

The fascists are counting on the complacency of the masses waiting until the next election rather than fighting and demanding passage of HR1 NOW.

5. The voter suppression laws are being challenged.

If people are motivated enough to vote and find themselves purged or their votes overturned, there will be hell to pay. So we must continue to urge people to csre enough to vote. Motivated people will not sit idly by and watch their votes or ability to vote get cancelled. They WILL rebel. They WILL make the system change, if they have to do it by force.

7. The time to make the system change is NOW, not after the November 2022 election

Marc Elias has said that his lawsuits are only meant to buy time to allow congress to act, and cannot protect democracy and the right to vote on their own.

While I agree that there would be “hell to pay” in the form of outrage in the streets, once the GOP seizes control of all three branches of government, regardless of the will of the voters, they won’t give a flying fuck about public outrage, and will simply use it to justify their authoritarian regime.

The fight is NOW- no more Politics As Usual, GOTV is meaningless unless until HR1 is passed.

9. Of course the time to fight is now,

politically and judicially.

All I'm saying is that if the voter suppression laws stay in effect, the fascists will get the civil war that they have been pushing for. I definitely do not want that, and anything we can do now to prevent it from coming to that is absolutely essential.

11. There will be no Civil War 2.0

People will not leave their jobs and lose their homes to fight a military that has nuclear weapons. The most that could happen would be some skirmishes ending in a Waco/Ruby Ridge type scenario.

Now, if people stopped buying anything for a month or so, including food, gas, apps, etc. (Stocking up before hand), that would get the attention of THe Powers That Be quickly. Even if only 30% or so participated, it would have a major impact on the stock market and the economy.

3. I vote a straight Democratic ticket and encourage those I know to do the same

Republicans jumped the shark long ago.

4. Even a massive turnout won't help when legislatures can throw out votes they don't like.

This is what is being installed in many states.
If a Democrat wins they can declare the election illegal and install Republicans in their place.

Our democracy is about to be eliminated unless someone comes up with a new plan.

6. And what will happen when people's votes are overturned

or tossed out? There will be massive unrest over it.

So do not get discouraged and do not discourage others from voting. People who care and are motivated to vote will not let a voter cancel culture survive.

There will be court challenges and cases of voter suppression laws before 2022.

8. Don't lure others into complacency with traditional paradigms about voting

They no longer apply, and wishing and hoping about “massive unrest” won’t change that fact.

Massive unrest in 1968 didn’t end the Viet Nam, it just made it unpopular with most of the public, but Nixon was still re-elected in 72.

The fight is NOW, not November 2022.

10. Of course the fight is now.

I am not luring people into complacency about voting.

I am saying that if we don't win the fight NOW, it will get physical.

This is not 1968. The circumstances are very different today. I do not wish for an uprising. I would like to see it avoided. But I am predicting (not wishing) that if people's votes are overturnrd to put fascists in power, there will be unrest beyond the scale of the war protests and civil rights protests of the 60s.
