Pennsylvania welfare department identifies more than 600 with improper benefits

More than 600 people fraudulently collected welfare benefits from outside of Pennsylvania, the state Department of Public Welfare announced today.

The benefits, some drawn for more than a year, came through Electronic Benefit Transfer cards that are used for cash assistance, food stamps and medical assistance programs.

A report, issued in April after a three-month review of more than 1,000 flagged cases, detailed the fraudulent cases. Those deemed inappropriate account for one-tenth of 1 percent of people receiving benefits statewide.

That's the key question - is this Governor so sucky that they can't seem to get their arms around ONLY Six Hundred fraudulent claims? They can't stop the fraud today (cancel the accounts) and and prosecute the individuals?

What kind of percentage is that ?..let's see..600 x 10 ==6000. x100 =600,000..(which is a very low guess. I really do not know)

So you hare putting up this .
.saying one tenth of one percent is fradulent..getting benefits out of state..

NOW THAT IS A WHOLE LOT...RIGHT?...nO! YOU ARE SOME RIGHT WING IDIOT WHOIS AGAINST WELFARE EH?
Why the hell are you putting this up?
That is 99.9 percent getting benefits in state..what is the point here?

I think people should know what’s going on in Pennsylvania!

Knowledge is power.

As far as I know we still have free speech, whether you like it or not.

If I post that paul ryan is going to get rid of social security and Medicare, that doesn’t mean I agree with him?

I can’t figure out what good it does to ignore this.

If I post that Corbett is not funding public transportation in Pittsburgh that doesn’t mean I agree with him, I like public transportation.

If you don’t like this post, report it to the mods and have them remove it, instead of calling me names, which I thought was against the rules on DU!

Here is a program welfare..that has a 99.9 percent success rate, and .01 fraud rate. 600 people live out of state..

Yes, we still have free speech here. But this is not Right Wing let us bash welfare.com.

In this case ..it is slanting news. A very small amount of fraud in a program, is expected of course..is made into look like a huge amount,
600 without telling the whole of the story. You tell the whole of the story to be fair and honest, and this story is not honest and truthfull. Why ?
by itself the 600 is not the whole story and you tell it ...as if it is the whole story kinda like fox news....In this case, knowledge is a slanted lie.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The idiot media reported that 50,000 checks were sent out to the wrong people and were fradulent for ..if I recall, Bush's rebate
program. (this was reported a couple of years ago) Now, 50,000 is a lot of so called fradulent checks and they were sent out by the "social security administration" The clear infernce was the the social security administration is foolish and incompetent for sending out so many bad checks...on a "program"

So...an internal audit was run, a self audit by social security adminstration..(it might have been some other agency)..and they found out the following. between 30 and 40 million checks were sent out, and and the success rate was 99.7 that is 99.7 percent went to the
right people and were legal. The remaining 50,000 it was found went to mostly legal addresses, but the people had moved..Some had
moved to jail on convictions. Again the inference was, these were illegal checks..but I recall .....with further inspection it was found
that most of the jail recipients really had those checks coming to them because they were legally employed at the time they were sent.
Jail was a result of some other kind of issue, not those checks..

So the idiot media reports that 50,000 checks were fradulent...and wastefull, but the media did not report the results of the
internal inspection by the agency involved. I looked for it, it was only in the progressive press that the results got a lot of coverage
That is why it is a fraudlent story not the truth. Any business or government agency for that matter that has a 99.7 success rate on a project is doing pretty good, as opposed to being incompetent..That is why your story about "knowledge is power" is slanted and untruthful. You have not presented a truthful story. We all know that...Do you? That is why someone called you an idiot.

Take these kinds of stories somewhere else..not here..There are enough of these out there, at fox news, and most right wing media
outlets.. I am sure you know what we are called elsewhere, and the word is not "idiots"...

That's a pretty fucking good record.

I'd like to see the numbers for Wall Street CEOs receiving "improper benefits."
