Louisiana Senator Kennedy Compared to "Foghorn Leghorn" Cartoon
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/11/22/our-foghorn-leghorn-republican-senator-little-resembles-his-former-democratic-self-louisiana-we-know-type/I'm shocked to learn that this guy was once a moderate Democrat opposed to tax cuts for the wealthy and is actually a highly educated attorney. In Louisiana, I guess you have to play dumb to get elected. Apparently everything about the guy is an act, down to his annoying, whiny, ignorant-sounding Southern accent.
We're seriously trapped by media images, sixty-second sound-bytes and, on top of it all, ignorance. Greed and the intoxicating effects of money and power are in the driver's seat. What are we teaching kids in school? Certainly not much in the way of critical thinking skills. Or verbal expression.

The Senator was Jack S. Phogbound. "There's no Jack S like OUR Jack S!"
And Foghorn Leghorn was already a parody of a Senator. Senator Beauregard Claghorn was a character from the Fred Allen radio show, who was featured during the Allen's Alley portion of the show. per Wikipedia: Claghorn would typically answer the door with, "Somebody, ah say, somebody knocked! Claghorn's the name, Senator Claghorn, that is. I'm from the South. Suh."

it'd be nice to rid our elective bodies of the charlatans, greed mongers, corporate special interests and narcissists. (sad chuckle)
