I think we’ll see a jump in kids in hospital.

higher numbers of kids in the hospitals where I am in MO. Now the schools in my area are dropping mask mandates in several districts so I would guess the numbers will shoot back up.

the rise in omicron cases coincided with holidays, when people visited friends and relatives, went to parties, and shopped for holiday foods and presents.

Omicron arrived here in August and increased as expected for this variant. But after Halloween, there was a jump in cases. After Thanksgiving, new cases made a
huge jump and kept rising higher. After Christmas and New Year, our cases were off the chart at 24%.

Then gradually they started to decline and are still going down. But, as our county health website says, the numbers of new cases are higher than their figures show. Many people have positive results from home tests which are not reported so are not part of the official figures.

I expect to see a rise after spring break that will continue through Easter before going down again.
