They both hoped to emerge as global superpowers. China would have taken Taiwan if Putin had been successful with Ukraine.

This is a major setback for them.

Trying to keep a sorta-kinda-maybe friend of Russia/Putin and at same time being sensitive to which way the wind is blowing.

5. Yes of course, they have to distance themselves now.

It has all backfired on them.

This is exactly why they wanted Putin to go first and see how it played out. If successful, they would have gone for Taiwan.

Their goal is global supremacy and the downfall of democracy, they have worked hard to show that democracy is an inferior form of government.

They have made a fool of US democracy and used our freedoms against us. They watched how quickly they could take over the US via the GOP and assumed the rest of the world would do the same.

Some of the world will fight and fight hard to save their democracy. I am sure Putin and Xi are shocked and dismayed.

China will now have to re-group and find another strategy.

We need to help them as much as we can.

And we should damn well fight here to save US democracy.

This amazing Kamil Galeev analysis explains many geopolitical things including the training.

The twitter thread has images I've never seen before and is worth looking at for its own merits.
