$1 million bounty on Putin offered by Russian businessman
https://www.jpost.com/international/article-699098The Russian entrepreneur said the Russian president came to power by "blowing up apartment buildings in Russia."
A $1,000,000 bounty for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin was offered to military officers by Russian entrepreneur Alex Konanykhin in a post he published on social media this week, as Russia continued its invasion of Ukraine.
"I promise to pay $1,000,000 to the officer(s) who, complying with their constitutional duty, arrest(s) Putin as a war criminal under Russian and international laws," wrote Konanykhin on LinkedIn. "Putin is not the Russian president as he came to power as the result of a special operation of blowing up apartment buildings in Russia, then violated the Constitution by eliminating free elections and murdering his opponents."

It's real, the photos are real, but yes, people have taken them and photoshopped jokes onto them for new images.

(29 posts)It's true, the bombing of apartment buildings in Moscow in '99 was most likely false flag to justify the war on Chechnya (other atrocities assigned to Chechnya terrorists were real, e.g the 2004 hospital attack).

(13,560 posts)If they do not stick together and carry out any coup as a team, they will fail because Putin will have a personal security team to protect him. In those photos of Putin at the long table, I imagine several security men standing behind Putin and aiming assault rifles at the other end of the table. Putin will not be easy to remove. Perhaps the only way is to create a barricade around wherever he is and allow no food or any supplies in. When his personal guards get hungry enough, they will leave.

(55,774 posts)that it will take hold. Constitutions usually do offer hope to the people, often some form of democracy, and those were even the founding principles of - believe it or not - the Soviet Union. I'm not familiar with the government of the Russian Federation, but suspect it to be similar. Hoping, for the people of the Ukraine, for the masses of Russia, for the rest of the world. This Russian businessman has floated a very big idea.
