Absurd trucker convoy jamming up the Capital Beltway has me rooting for higher gas prices

OK, let me get this straight: A truckload of U.S. truckers has assembled outside Washington, D.C., to protest something, but nobody quite knows what. Is it the mask and vaccine mandates that most cities and states have already dropped? Who knows.

On Sunday, they formed a convoy and did two loops around the Capital Beltway. What did they accomplish? Who knows.

They’re threatening to repeat the driving-around-in-a-big-circle thing Monday, but to show they really mean business, they’re adding a third Beltway lap, and organizers say they’ll add an extra lap each day until their demands are met. What are their demands? Again, who knows.

According to The Washington Post: “Organizers said their goal is to be a ‘huge pain.’ ”

And they will be SHOCKED as to how much their little hissy fit, "Pay attention to me" is going to cost them.

Kind of a boycott by bumper-sticker and vinyl signs.

I, too, have a dream.

I’m betting most of them have never set foot inside of Washington DC. They’ve probably never visited the Smithsonian and the beautiful old architecture and artwork. Probably never witnessed their government working firsthand. Pitiful.I think all they know of life is driving on the interstate. They are fighting the culture wars but they are unarmed

I only spent one day there but it felt overwhelming, actually seeing things I had seen pictures of / read about all my life. These convoys, they don't represent truckers, or liberty, or America, they're just selfish fucking assholes.

With diesel fuel somewhere near $4.00 per gallon and at best 10MPG, 64 miles per lap, that's $25.60 per lap per vehicle. That is money that will not be spent on trying to elect another Empty Greene. Or some other Qanon crazy. Let them do laps.

which is really threatened, there's this petty nonsense. Comparing mask and vaccine mandates to real tyranny that has Russia in its grip and is threatening Ukraine is worse than petty, it is unpatriotic, selfish and blatantly un-American.

Just wondering, how do you jam up a beltway that is already jammed up?
