What does the Supreme Court draft opinion on abortion mean for other rights?

With a leaked draft opinion revealing this week that the U.S. Supreme Court appears poised to overturn nearly 50 years of abortion rights precedent, Democrats and activists are sounding alarms that other rights not explicitly listed in the Constitution -- but long-considered protected as implied rights of privacy -- could be threatened next.

"If the rationale of the decision -- as released -- were to be sustained, a whole range of rights are in question -- a whole range of rights," President Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday, offering his first public reaction to the document as the court confirmed its authenticity.

"If the right to privacy is weakened," said Vice President Kamala Harris, "every person could face a future in which the government can potentially interfere in the personal decisions you make about your life."

Their anxiety, legal experts told ABC News, is not only with Roe being overturned but in how it would be overturned -- and whether the final opinion's language and reasoning could set the stage for other unenumerated rights -- those not directly listed in the Constitution -- to be similarly sent back to be decided by the states.

in unenumerated rights...

Don't forget what they're trying to do the enumerated rights! Like... the Post Office! Face it... they want to completely tear down the country, rip up the Constitution, and make it into Somalia, Hungaria, Russia, or someplace they see in their own little rage infested little mind. It's not someplace WE want to live.

This is why I say we have to start thinking about division. We have to start thinking about a 2-country split for OUR country. Never mind Israel and Palestine right now. Let's start thinking about how we are going to survive in OUR country. We are at a crossroads in this country. Voting, I'm all for it. GOTV as much as you can and hope to hell they don't steal it from you. But can you do it EVERY single time? Because that's what's called for. One slipped election. One virus gets ahead of us. One state finds a way to digitally wreck an election and puts us behind the 8 ball. One more Republican president and the whole country is gone. Just ONE. We make the changes while we have the power. Period. Or we're gone. Find a way to make a 2-country state and let them do their own thing; make their own way while we go our own way with our own constitution. That's the only way I see the future happening. It's not going to be easy; and it's not going to be fun. But nothing worth doing ever is. But it's damned sure easier than being slaves to evil. And it's better than watching my grandchildren being ground under the feet of evil.

Edited to edit the absolute obligatory: YMMV... and I realize, idealistically this is not what many will want. I also realize there are a WHOLE slew of problems that come with this... WAY too many to enumerate in this post, nor do I want to go into them; especially as a former military person. Just the military posts in this country as it is now is a headache I don't want to contemplate. But we have to think of creative ways out of this morass. They aren't going away. They ARE going to keep tearing down this country until they succeed. The Democratic party is not going to play dirty. These are facts. We can't even pack the damned SCOTUS, and that's the LEAST we could do. So... beyond the everyday admonition of GOTV, give this now 3rd rate citizen an alternative.
