LTE: I own guns. I can also read, and I know what 'a well regulated militia' doesn't mean

When is enough enough? How many times do we have to have a mass shooting at one of our schools, or anywhere else for that matter, before our spineless politicians in Washington take action?

I am a gun owner. I believe in the right to bear arms. Our Second Amendment calls for “a well regulated militia.” Well, where on earth are the regulations? It is unconscionable that an 18-year-old can walk into a store and purchase not one, but two assault rifles with virtually no checks in place.

Unfortunately, our thoughts and prayers don’t do much to address this issue. What does address it is our votes. The vast majority of Americans support commonsense gun control. You have the power to effect change in Washington. Regardless of your party affiliation, vote for representatives who will effect change and vote out those who will not.

Let’s finally put an end to this terrible madness.

People had guns back in the day as a necessity for food. This is so fucking out of control.

It help the budget to be able to provide meat for the freezer.

Some people need guns to protect their livestock from predators. Not all Americans live in cities.

I never said anything about assault rifles. People who hunt do not use assault rifles. People with livestock do not defend them with assault rifles. I happen to agree with you about assault rifles.

Some private citizens do need guns. I just gave you two examples, and you attacked. I am not a gun humper simply because I stated another point of view. You are very rude.

Wouldn’t bother me to give them up of laws are passed. Let’s just make sure the laws apply to everyone. Don’t let rich fucks like trump junior keep his arsenal or MTG and probably most rethugs). Actually I could see that happen, the Rs agreeing to gun control, but just for everyone else. P

... then you, quite simply and obviously, cannot vote for a Republican, on any ballot, in any election. As a party, the GOP fails on this issue consistently, persistently, and purposely.
