Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), on ABC’s “This Week.” “And until we get a grip on telling people the truth, we can’t expect any differently.”

There's a concerted conservative effort afoot to stoke terrorism against trans people in this country and, like "Pizzagate" and Trump's election hoaxes and multiple Fox News crusades against an enemy-of-the-moment (see: Glenn Beck, Tides Foundation), it's working as intended. We can harumph or deflect or try to sort the various Republican provocateurs into buckets roughly corresponding to murderous intent versus hackish opportunism, but once again we have an entirely hoax-fueled panic that, once again, just happens to target another group previously persecuted by The Actual Nazis, one that will be added to the big bookshelf of hoaxes used to foment stochastic terrorism against immigrants, educators, non-Christians, scientific experts, international treaties, and targeted "globalist" Jews.

I tried very hard to come up with a less incendiary lede than that one, but it just doesn't work. We've seen this before. We'll see it again. There's a partisan Republican effort to incite hate against LGBTQ Americans and, right now, very specifically drag queens. It's being boosted relentlessly by the internet’s limitless supply of conservative "influencers." And the specific events and targets of the first two groups are then being targeted by the violent far-right...

They're no longer the "vocal opposition" or "the opposing party" or "people with different opinions." They've gone full-on domestic terrorist. Their hate has been allowed to go on too long. They've been allowed to get their hands on too many weapons of mass death. And they've been fueled by a media who invites them to have a seat at the table, instead of calling out their hateful rhetoric.

"But... 80 million people voted for Drumpf! Don't they get a voice too?" Yeah. They got one - for the prior 4 years. We've heard it all before. They lost. Get over it, mediots.

"But... Both sides! Can't we listen to both sides on this?" Sure. One side wants to live. The other side wants to kill us. But please tell us how "you know, maybe they have a few valid points...", mediots.

7. Violence is coming if this isn't stopped

We've gone from bigoted bills and bigoted comments, to hateful rants, to now open threats and harassment... And it's only mid-June. There's four more months between now and the midterms for things to get worse. More hatred fueled by more bigoted bills. More candidates running on a platform of rounding up and executing LGBTQ's. More "groomers" lies - or even a worse label being thrown around.

And armed to the teeth and threatening us are people who've killed before, and are itching to kill again. The same "fine patriots" who gave us Charlottesville and January 6 now want to go on a killing spree that leaves The Pulse in the dust.

The nation in general and LGBTQ's specifically are in the cross-hairs and being held hostage by people who think they are this nation, they speak for this nation, and they have the sole discretion to decide who can live and who can't. People with more guns than brain cells.

We are in truly horrifying and frightening times. Sick times. And who is to thank? The former "Republican party" (now the Republican terrorist cult), reich-wing hate media, a failed businessman and reality TV buffoon who occupied the White House, and his master Vlad the Impaler Putin.

I hope to hell the FBI, DOJ, DHS and all other relevant agencies are watching like hawks and ready to step in before we have blood in the streets... again.
