For some perspective and clarity, the Biden Administration ranks high in recent Presidential history

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2022/07/in-recent-presidential-history-biden.html

If the first hundred days of a Presidential administration count for the majority of the way that President is evaluated from a historical perspective, then Joe Biden is one of the most successful Presidents in modern history. Only FDR actually accomplished more. Both faced a major crisis, prompting actions which needed to be taken that had political consequences and required fighting political battles. FDR had a larger congressional and senate majority, though at times, the Democrats in both houses could be obstinate, reverting to some of their more provincial, backward, isolationist tendencies.

It's too early to determine whether "history" will elevate some of what President Biden has achieved to the same level as the New Deal, or to the civil rights achievements of the Kennedy-Johnson era, or to the economic and job growth under the Clinton administration, or to the Affordable Care Act, which was President Obama's signature achievement. But President Biden is an accomplished, proven leader, has a long record of legislative achievements as a member of the Senate, was one of the more active and engaged Vice-Presidents, a huge contrast to his successor, who was less than a zero.

I'll start speculating and commenting about 2024 when the Democrats have secured their majority in both houses, including enough of a margin in the senate to break the filibuster. President Biden is clearly able to handle the pressures of the office. That's the end of that discussion.

for 2022. Every Democrat running gets my vote. I wouldn't even consider a Republican and voting third party is a waste of a good vote. Third party progressives, fold it up, and endorse the Democrat.

I also describe myself as a flaming liberal sword. But I vote straight Dem tickets. Then... now... and in the future. Too much depends on it. Especially now. Thing is, I like Biden as a person a great deal. He's the calm where *rump was the chaos of the storm. But I'll be honest. I'd rather have a bit of fire lit under him these days. I wish he were a bit more of an orator like Obama. Or a ramrod, like LBJ. I know he's not well-liked around here, I guess. personally, I like LBJ... despite the warts (and there were a LOT of warts!). But he definitely got crap done. And we've got so much resting on these midterms, we've GOT to bring it into home base. I'm scared, and Biden's calm demeanor isn't reassuring me right now.

But I think the problem is the media, not President Biden. We've got to develop the same kind of single-minded determination to keep hammering and on the attack like the GOP has done. Everything has lined itself up for the political advantage of Democrats, from January 6th to guns to Ukraine to the biggest ticket item, the fall of Roe. The motivation gap is gone, Democrats are surging in polls. But the media bounces back and forth from this to that to something else. We will have to make our own news.
