McConnell Says Labor Shortages Will End When People Run Out Of Stimulus Money

For over a year, lawmakers and businesses have been bemoaning how they can't find workers.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell offered his own theory as to why at an event in Paducah, Kentucky, on Tuesday.

"You've got a whole lot of people sitting on the sidelines because, frankly, they're flush for the moment," the Kentucky Republican said. "What we've got to hope is once they run out of money, they'll start concluding it's better to work than not to work.

That's right. As soon as those lowly peons stop trying to act like they are human beings, we can get back to the levels of exploitation we had before the pandemic. Just let them all run out of money and they will be crawling back. After all, nothing is more important than money. NOTHING. And, if you say otherwise, then we will have to have a little talk with you. We can't have anything interfering with the top money hoarders making even more money!

That racist turtle is evil. There is nothing else that explains him. And, he is not alone.

That we saved it up so that we would have lots of money sitting around. As if we had the means to have a lot of money sitting around. He is delusional.

He and his oligarch friends just do not like it when they do not have complete control of the workforce. A control that is achieved by unfairness and over-extension. But, they have gotten away with it for so long now...

Why is he even talking about this. I think a lot of people retired and I believe Covid killed a lot more people than we realize. There are many people who have long Covid and are unable to work.

They are the real lowlifes. McConnell and his wife are corrupt grifters who have used their positions of power for personal enrichment. And they feel entitled to look down on everyone else.

Workers are just tired of employers bullshit. Build better jobs, with livable wages and decent benefits, (like our fathers had), share some of the wealth that your employees create, and they will be beating the doors down. It is easier, and cheaper, being poor and unemployed, than working for peanuts, while paying daycare. If you bastards didn't wreck the unions, there would be some balance and businesses would have a supply of trained, hard working people. Republicans made the damn mess and the want to clean it up on the backs of the f

Mitch knows this of course, but he is preaching to the crazy base like all of the Republicans do. They are so beholding to the 30% of nuts, and big business, that they can't do anything for the good of the country. The only think important to them is maintaining their illusion of power and status, and the rest of the nation be damned.

Tax the wealthy, Mitch, instead of beating up on working people. I despise Republicans and everything that they stand for.

9. The Corporations Saw The Stimulus Money From The Government As A Opportunity.....

Couple the stimulus money from the government with the savings most American's had because they were sheltering at home and not going out to eat, to the theater; or go on vacations; didn't need gas --- a lot of Americans salted away some money over the last two years of the pandemic.

The corporations knew this and thought about how they can get their hands on this found money.

So what happen? All kinds of (my belief) product shortages - some maybe real - but many bogus created shortages - so they could raise prices and get their hands into the back pockets of Americans and get some of that new found money.

I've heard instances where stockboys were told to keep the shelves looking empty so that people would hoard product and that the store can keep the prices up.

This is why we have inflation folks. Most of it is a creation of the greedy corporations practicing product birth control.

The oil companies - who lost big when people weren't on the roads and they had a surplus of gas and they had to bring down the prices - saw a chance to recover what they lost in profits during the pandemic - as the pandemic threat seemed to ease and we were being told that things were proceeding back to normal.

Notice how airline ticket prices went up.

All this inflation and price increases should ease soon - when the corporations feel that they've sucked the life out of the stimulus monies and the savings.

300,000 Americans reach retirement age every month! Most of us are on Social Security now, which costs us our benefit if we earn over a pittance at a regular job. If you want us old folks to work, eliminate the penalty for working and we might come back for a year or two.

especially in his own state. And too many Kentuckians are oblivious to how badly they have been duped by this dingbat.

The stimulus money wasn't enough to pay two months rent in most places.

Have you watched Mitch talk in front of a camera lately? Looks demented and senile.
