Sanders to barnstorm across 8 states before Election Day
(snip)
Sanders, who has urged Democrats to focus more on economic issues at a time when many voters think the economy is on the wrong track, will start his trip on Oct. 27 with an event in Eugene, Ore., with Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Democrat Val Hoyle, who is running in Oregons 4th Congressional District.
He will hit four Senate battlegrounds on his trip: Nevada, Florida, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where he will talk about rising inequality and the need to expand Medicare, a top policy priority for him that didnt get much attention from Democratic leaders in the 117th Congress.

Were going to frame the argument that were letting the Republicans off the hook on a terrible agenda for the working class. They, Republicans, have largely been on the offensive on decrying student loan debt relief, minimum wage increases, child tax credits, stimulus as somehow bad for working people, and that just cant stand, Shakir said.
Weve got to go out there and make the contrast, he added.

Thanks for saying this forever and now heading out to say it louder.
I'm in my late 60's and cannot imagine the energy he has, we are so lucky to have him.

Mr. Sanders maintains an impassioned core following and is one of the biggest draws on the stump for Democrats nationwide. But Republicans have used Mr. Sanders as a boogeyman in television ads in many races across the country and even some moderate Democrats have concerns that his campaigning in swing states could backfire.
Mr. Sanders brushed off a question about whether his presence on the trail might be used to attack Democratic candidates.
Theyve already done it, Mr. Sanders said. Theyre going to have to respond to why they dont want to raise the minimum wage, why they want to give tax breaks to billionaires, why they want to cut Social Security. Those are the questions that I think these guys do not want to answer. And those are the questions Im going to be raising.
Throughout the tour, he plans to hold events with a mix of House candidates, a mayoral contender and liberal organizations in an effort to turn out core Democratic constituencies.

The primary question being, are we going to keep letting the Republican Party and their corporate media mouthpieces set the political /policy narrative of the midterms?
I believe Bernie is of the mind that we most definitely shouldn't and I have to agree to with him, that the Democratic Party will have its' greatest success if it stays on offense.
