William Barr: Trump threatens to burn down the GOP, it's time to move on (

From the New York Post 11/21/22:

During the Republican primaries in 2016, I supported, in succession, every alternative to Donald Trump. I did not see him as our partyís standard-bearer. He was not my idea of a president. I could see that he was grossly self-centered, lacked self-control, and almost always took his natural pugnacity too far. While he could be compelling, I found myself cringing at his frequently juvenile, bombastic, and petulant style.

I also saw Trumpís strengths. I liked the clear and direct way he staked out a position and his willingness to state unpleasant truths that many were afraid to say. I appreciated that he was willing to confront head-on difficult issues ó like unfair trade deals, or our alliesí paltry defense spending ó that other politicians dodged. Above all, Trump had accurately diagnosed, and given voice to, the deep frustration of many middle-class and working-class Americans who were fed up with the excesses of progressive Democrats; the shameless partisanship of the mainstream media; and the smug condescension of elites who had mismanaged the country, sold them out, and appeared content to preside over the decline of America.

But it is now clear he lacks the qualities essential to achieving the kind of unity and broad election victory in 2024 so necessary if we are to right our listing republic. It is time for new leadership.

For many, supporting Trump was an act of defiance ó a protest. The more over the top he was, the more they savored the horrified reaction of the elites, especially the media. Arguments that Trump wasnít presidential missed the point. Trumpís supporters wanted a disrupter. His voters felt that the left was taking a wrecking ball to the country, and they wanted to strike back with their own.

4. "His voters felt that the left was taking a wrecking ball to the country..."

Bullshit. Many of his voters were TOLD he was taking a wrecking ball to the country and believed it without bothering to check the facts or get their information from sources other than Faux. They voted AGAINST the Democrats, not FOR that piece of shit.

And the ones who did know the facts (GOP politicians and multi-millionaires) voted for him because they want to take this country back a thousand years and create a feudal society: the rich land-owners and the uneducated vassals.

So shove it up your sorry ass, Bill. Go crawl back under your rock.

5. Barr loved him some Fascist asshole,...

... like tRump as long as tRump appeared to be a winner of votes. Now that tRump's ability to win votes is questionable, barr is reluctant to show tRump any support and is willing to denounce him.

Barr will just switch his allegiances to the next Fascist to come along who displays to ability to win some votes and some elections..

Barr's loyalties do not belong specifically to tRump,... but rather to the doctrines of the Fascist and the advancement of their agendas.

It is like Reality Television,.. if your ratings drop your show gets swiftly canceled. Then the next vaudeville Fascist show gets a chance on the popularity/cultist stage.
