When we lived in California, I worked as a Poll Inspector

For multiple elections.

Your post is right on! Elections are secure and voter fraud is not a thing. Well, except for the Republicans who were caught voting their dead family member's ballot. That was voter fraud right there!

But busloads of "illegals" cannot pull up to a polling place and receive a ballot. To be frank, undocumented people don't want to get anywhere near any locale that might expose them.

And let me tell you that election day work is long and challenging. The pay is minimal and the process involves unpaid training classes given by the County Elections Board. People who do this job are truly public servants, in the best sense.

Thanks for this.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
