Faltering Republican patriotism visible in actions of GOP members of Congress during Zelenskyy visit

Somehow, Democrats need to make this a major part of the political narrative.

Why would members of a political party that once waved American flags in the faces of perceived enemies, launched military invasions of countries to impose "democratically elected government", and declared Russia and China as the biggest enemies of the American ideals of individual freedom and democracy suddenly act so foolishly ignorant when the head of state of a nation that is fighting against one of the declared enemies, and advancing American ideals along with defending their freedom and sovereignty, comes to Congress to thank us for our help and to ask for more? Republicans have lost their minds, and that's showing up in these actions as well. But I see two explanations, both credible, both supported with evidence.

One, it's political. President Zelenskyy embarrassed their idol by resolute integrity in the face of a corrupt bribe and since he's still their inamorata, they are throwing a fit.

Two, there's Russian money and interference in there somewhere. We know it's happening, there's documented evidence all through the Mueller Report, which DOJ has ignored for the most part. But where there's smoke...

Plus the top gop house ways and means cmte member claims most republicans support the war effort. There will be enough for more funding to pass if needed.

7. I'm in favor of unrestricted, unconditional aid to Ukraine.

Do a "Lend-Lease" deal, and keep it coming. No accounting necessary, ship whatever they ask for. We have a common interest, the want to keep their sovereignty and freedom, and we gain by defeating Russia on their doorstep without a single American military loss. It's a drop in the bucket compared to our defense spending anyway, provides jobs. Of course, strong arming the Russians to the negotiating table, which we could do, and making them give back the Donbas, Crimea and pay for their damage, which we could also do, would be the better way to go.

I really need to do some research into how much we spend on our own needy and destitute. Because I am betting it is not three billion dollars. I am betting it is not even close. Rethugs do not want to aid anyone. They want everyone to be indebted to them. They want everyone to worship them. When that does not happen, they complain mightily. Which is why they get so pissed when anyone with a brain points out how we are doing now as opposed to three years ago (give or take). They don't want the US to get ahead. They want themselves to get ahead and then control everything. That is a dictatorship/oligarchy. That is what they want and they are no longer even remotely subtle about it. They hate Zelensky because he is not a dictator. They love Putin because he is.

As much as we can we need to foster Pro Alliance GOP members for bipartisan bills on Ukraine. It is in the interest of democracy, human rights and our clear security interest.
I am thankful for the GOP members who support NATO and Ukraine.

For MAGA GOP, I hope for nothing but kicking their traitorous asses at election time. They seek to have our Country bow to the rapists in the Kremlin and in Tehran.

16. It's not merely ironic that isolationists and Nazi sympathizers prior to and during WW2

were also mostly Republican.

Hitler's regime enriched the corporate wealthy and banking class in Germany beyond their wildest expectations and that's what the Republicans in this country have their eye on, more than individual freedom, which is something from which they can't profiteer. So they are trying to get rid of it.

The point that needs to be made to Hawley and the rest of the asshole Repug whiners is that UKRAINE IS SUPPLYING THE WARM BODIES. UKRAINIANES ARE THE ONES DYING. Ukrainian cities are being razed to the ground.. Until the Repugs have some skin in the game they need to shut the fuck up!
