Walton Hills police ripped woman out of car during traffic stop, slammed her against car after she started recording officer, lawsuit says

A Walton Hills police officer grabbed a woman by the arm and ripped her from her car during a traffic stop after she started recording the officer with her cellphone, according to a lawsuit.

Amanda Mills suffered several injuries, including a broken wrist bone and permanent injuries to her breasts during the Feb. 19, 2022, traffic stop, her attorney, John Pfleiderer, said.

Mills filed the lawsuit in federal court in Cleveland last month against the small village in southeast Cuyahoga County and officer C.J. Schmidt, accusing the officer of using excessive force.

She “was subject to violent, unnecessary and needless abuse” by officers and that she suffered pain, mental and emotional harm and deprivation of civil rights because of the incident, Pfleiderer wrote in the lawsuit.

I bet this guy has a history of violent over-reaction in his dealings with the public; it's most likely not an isolated incident.

possible domestic abuse. This kind of vile, abusive behaviour isn't usually reserved for only certain situations. He's probably a wife/partner beater, too.

Why should citizens have to keep paying for these bad cops?
Good cops would report the bad ones if they thought it was affecting THEIR bottom line.
