'Trump Bucks' promise wealth for MAGA loyalty. Some lose thousands.
"
In the recesses of the internet where some of Donald Trumps most fervent supporters stoke conspiracies and plot his return to the White House, suspected con artists have been mining their disappointment over the last presidential election for gold.
Theyve been peddling Trump Bucks, which are emblazoned with photos of the former president, and advertising them online as a kind of golden ticket that will help propel Trumps 2024 bid and make the real patriots who support him rich when cashed in.
John Amann told NBC News he bought $2,200 worth of Trump Bucks and other items over the past year only to discover they were worthless when he tried to cash them in at his local bank. So hes gone on Twitter to warn other Trump supporters not to fall for this scam.

I'm no legal expert, but this scam seems to place anyone who buys them and tries to exchange them for legal tender, or goods and services on the legal hotseat, leaving the scammer unharmed.

He even sued his own party for unauthorized use of his name and likeness.

(66,307 posts)Someone came to my window once and handed me a small sheet of paper from one of those notepads printed to look like $100 bills. He asked me if it was real.
Not the size, color, or texture of a real currency bill, and there was nothing printed on the reverse. I never would have thought anyone would be stupid enough to think it was legal tender. But that was before the rise of Trump, when one could say or do the most stupid things, and people would still think you were joking.
I hope these idiots got cleaned out.
