Best-Selling Beer in U.S., Modelo, Faces Growing Problem

Modelo, and to a certain extent other Mexican import beer brands, have been able to appeal to drinkers with a lifestyle message that is targeted and yet still universal, said Kate Bernot, lead analyst with Sightlines, a beverage alcohol insights platform, told Forbes in 2024. Miller and Coors, by trying to be appealing to everyone, stopped being special to anyone. And then here comes Corona, Modelo and Pacifico, feeling fresher and more authentic.
While Modelo remains the best-selling beer in the United States, Constellation Brands, which owns both Modelo and Corona, announced some troubling news regarding its customer base. Immigration reforms have begun to greatly impact the company's sales.
"Our Hispanic consumer, which reflects roughly half our business ... is very interested in beer," CEO Bill Newlands said ..................
"A lot of Hispanic consumers are apprehensive to leave their house or ... deviate from their routine or go out," Dave Williams of Bump Williams Consulting told Yahoo Finance. "That results in fewer opportunities and occasions where beer would slot into the mix."....................

I like the crispness of an ice cold high life at times.
I don't like most macro brews, but High Life is the best Miller product IMO.
