(324 posts)Like Barron these parasites will escape the reality of the war that is to come. Reading this morning Iran has mined the straits and now what are the choices we have to open it up.
Bibi or Benzion Milieikowsky has wanted this war for decades and Trump was stupid enough to join in.

(17,239 posts)I never really thought about gun control much as an issue Skittles, preoccupied as I was with the environment.
But after I returned to India and encountered local crazies here and after reading about your crazies over there, I felt genuinely thankful that at least these local creeps who flooded my street appallingly between 2021 and the present were unarmed and only had strength in numbers.
Our local typically male, typically Indian creeps favor gang rape without weapons as opposed to your typically male, typically white lone gunman creeps. Multicultural creep diversity!
I am a champ at political correctness in all directions! It saves one the hassle of thought terminating cliches
lol
I am not really easygoing Skittles. But communication with people one disagrees with in my specifically rubbish position is something I make guesses about from talking to my dad. He is conservative, but not unreasonable and he can be responsive to things if you represent self-interest in honest ways.
I am already taking a hard line on many things as a feminist/environmentalist/scientist/Nimby/pot user/uncompromising on kayfabe, privacy etc. Because it concerns my material assets. I dont go around taking other peoples shit and they neednt expect to pirate from me and represent that as the other way around.
I have so many strong opinions on so many things in material ways, I have to compromise somewhere and that is adjusting civility to navigate something filled with tension, where emotions run high etc.
In my fairly cloistered life (far from any red stronghold -college towns mostly), I never really met white working class Republicans who werent generally nice at an interpersonal level. Sometimes in some contexts someone who has the minority political view is (in that context) if not precisely an underdog, still outnumbered. I dont care much for mobbing anymore than billionaires. I am an only child and a loner from way back.
That is why I always liked you
. You kick ass solo. I respect that 🫡. Though till recently I always found you terrifying..in a good way. No..you remind me of many lone women I know..I am from a matriarchal society in India and I tried to be milder because so many women I knew were so domineering past all sense and reason (my grandmother, my aunt). But most societies arent matriarchal and mildness is not working.
But still sometimes I do feel some sympathy for these crazy male types sometimes. Because I have myself often felt adrift and isolated. But I course correct before I go around the bend at all. That looks on the whole worse. And I like being alone most of the time.
DUer erronis posted about male loneliness and I do think men tend to feel lonelier. For solitary women safety takes priority over companionship. But still even I am trying to establish contact with an old colleague I trust who never responds, damn him. But it is again a specific insane thing. Dont ask..
You work in cybersecurity right Skittles? Is cryptography a part of that? Yeah your field is crazy.
These CS people seem a little insane sometimes when they arent the hyperenthusiasts whom I avoid even more.
Hell we even had a neighbour who was kinda crazy, but a nice guy..very weird..he was pretty crazy though. A real shame, because he was actually a nice person insane politics aside.
I used to think sadly that he could some day do something from which there would be no going back. I hope he doesnt..As I said, I am a solitary person myself. But I am not crazy.
The worst people who impacted me, I never even met..goddamn cowards. I dread political discussions irl.
And I am on DU because I am very incomfortable in politically mixed places for all that I tend to feel bad for people with cracked out views.
Deradicalisation is what so much of society needs after 20 years of extra shit media.
I admit to some sympathy for the simple reason that it would be entrapment to fail to get that sympathy is not an opening to hack and show up uninvited and stalk etc.
It is merely a form of help. Someone who is not contemptuous should point out that dont go down paths that will ruin your life (and mine).
It is not the people who seem most antagonistic you should fear sometimes as people who tried to be understanding and lost patience. A dynamic I have never successfully avoided with people like my main mentor.
It is not pissing off truly unreasonable people that is the path to perdition. It is when you exhaust the patience of even people who try to tolerate drivel up to a threshold and inverting that wont work. My first postdoctoral mentor (the most superior scientist who ever existed in my view and nothing can change that..because he takes mentoring seriously) and my overworked oncologist are the sole people whom I am in the red with in any real way.

(114 posts)The United States clearly fell, and continues to experience hostile wartime actions which has targeted the most vulnerable among us. These punks slated the extermination of hundreds of thousands. Nay, millions, on a whim, without so much as batting an eye.
You are staring in to the eyes of recalcitrant, and unrepentant mass murderers.
I do not say these things lightly.

Take his "AI" company.
Not built right the first time Musks xAI is starting over again, again

Like buying twitter, he rushes into things like a mad fool.
DOGE was utter garbage from day zero.
xAI was not built right first time around, so is being rebuilt from the foundations up, Musk said Thursday on his social media platform, X. By most measures, it isnt going all that smoothly.
Translation:
This was a cluster**** from the start, like the jobs trashed and lives ruined by DOGE, and we're going to catch up with Claude Code or Codex, rival programming assistants made by Anthropic and OpenAI, ... by the middle of this year.
Yes, that's fine work by mind-altering drugs.

Mr. Musks drug consumption went well beyond occasional use. He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it.
