Community hub Blue Colony Diner more like a funeral home after 27 innocent victims murdered in cold blood by madman Adam Lanza

By Denis Hamill, NY Daily News Dec. 15, 2012

"Everybody in Sandy Hook and Newtown comes to the Blue Colony Diner.

There will be 27 who never will again.

On Friday, Connecticut’s Blue Colony was more like a funeral home than an eatery.

“I’ve been working here for 40 years since it opened in 1973,” says Pat, the thin waitress with the white sneakers who drove in from Torrington for her 10:45 a.m. shift on Friday.

“The shooting is all anyone’s talked about all day,” she said. “I had one father who brought his 5-year-old daughter here from that school where the shootings were today and he sat down right there in the same seat where you’re sitting right now. His little girl wouldn’t sit down. All she would do was pace back and forth on the carpet right there by the cake showcase. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.”"
