What a line of hokum.

The way that you fix the paid insurance plan called Social Security is to raise the cap. No ifs ands or buts!
If we raise the cap to 250,000, up from the current 110,000, the fund would be viable for more than 100 years.

And they are not entitlements, they are paid for benefits, that never were to be part of the general budget.
Social Security should not be touched by any budget other than its own.

The entitlements that MUST be cut, are the entitlements that oil companies, defense contractors, and privately run prisons get.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
