Will elected Democrats make a difference in the United States?

I'm discouraged, but unwilling to throw in the towel as long as I can draw breath. The last line was telling.

We have some serious work to do. Or we can turn this mess over to our kids. Change in the United States is going to require involvement from all those who care about freedom. These are not just idle words. The indicators of an impending police state, plutocracy are increasing.

It is dawning on more people that just electing "Democrats" is not enough. Few that carry the label, are these days. They campaign as Democrats, Tell us what we want to hear, but once in office, they are at best, either 3rd Way or Republican Lite. Most have been bought off by big money of some flavor or the other.
Many here on DU even excuse their actions as something they are forced to do. Bull Shit. They are bought and paid for, and we, the 99%, cannot afford to buy them back.

Too bad his idea of "cleaning up Wall St." was getting his FBI
to ochastrate the clubbing, pepper spraying and jailing Occupy
protesters, who were sounding the alarm bells about corruption
on Wall St.; rather than going after the REAL crooks who OWS
were sounding the alarm about.

That is NOT what I voted for .. twice.

there Are Dems I will still support. Only about 95% of Dems in the House and Sen are "questionable"

When I went back and reviewed votes taken on issues over the past 15 years---When WE said "no" or "yes"--I was heartbroken to "see" Dems giving, in most Every case, just enough supporting votes to either get something through we didn't want Or to Defeat something we did.

I was a Dem for over 50 years.

Then review their campaign donations etc
There is a pattern and a link to voting habits and they don't favor Us, imo.

If we are still allowed to vote in 2014/2016? We'd better do a much better job at personally vetting each candidate. We need to get new faces, new ideas and candidates who are Not "well connected" in both State and Federal offices.
