Never been republican, doubt that would be any different even if I hadn't had a "poor start" nightscanner59 Mar 2013 #3

The war should be much further down on the list. Betcha' he's still a free-trader though.

I would have liked to think that the GOP's massive surge to the right and all their moves showing their disdain for the country and the 99 percent would be what it takes anyone to turn against them.

He's a free market Ayn Rand loving despot, and he can rot with the rest of his right wing friends. In the words of Hitchens, "It's a pity there isn't a hell for him to go to."

You can't conveniently divorce the "War on Terror" from the Iraq War. They were both marketed together. "Terrorist" is a stupid word that can be expanded to mean whoever you want it to mean, and if you don't understand that basic concept then no amount of "We pursued the wrong strategy" is going to cover up the fact you supported the war. He let his fear center direct his judgment, just like all of the war hawks (liberal and conservative). He trusted the government like the rest of the sheeple. His conversion is meaningless if he still supports drone strikes and believes in forcing others to sacrifice their lives for his view of the world.

People like this make me vomit.

But still glad to see some former repub's see at least some of the light of day. Choosing democrats in elections still has only been the choice of the lesser of the evils when it comes to fiscal and warmonger policy making, and not wanting to "waste my vote" on third party candidates since such weakens that reality factor of the lesser evils chances of getting elected.
Democrats have always, in my lifetime, been a notch more supportive of the working class.
As a dumpster diving teen runaway from the self-righteousness of the right (I'm gay and was mercilessly bashed in a redneck town) always been saddened the candidates in the best positions to help the poor have the least chance at winning elections. Picking myself up by the bootstraps certainly was at best, minimally aided by Repubs in the past, now utterly greedy and self serving repug's want to choke to death anyone who wants to pick themselves up like I did. Ray Gun's ignorance and GHB's "thousand points of light" never gave me as much as a hot dog nor a roof over my head.
I'll never be "rich". I've always known I'll struggle and eat cat food in retirement because of corporate greed. I have so much more respect for anyone who got what they could (grants, loans), put themselves through school and worked hard than for any of the all too pampered people from the get-go. But I gladly pay my taxes, even if more than a bit disturbed I pay far more than the likes of GE... thanx REPUBLICAN bastards. Fuck-a yoo many times over for that, and why NO repug has or will ever, ever get my vote.
Green party 2016 or 2020!... Mother Nature needs this.
