In an Anti-Semitic Tweet Donald Trump Claims That He Is Much Smarter Than Jon Stewart
The ugly racism of Donald Trump reared its head again, as the bigoted billionaire went on the attack against Jon Stewart for being Jewish.
Here is the tweet:
I promise you that I'm much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz - I mean Jon Stewart @TheDailyShow. Who, by the way, is totally overrated.
12:39 PM - 24 Apr 2013
Trumps claim that he's much smarter than Stewart could be easily dismissed as more delusion from a serial D-list attention seeker, but his anti-semitism cant be overlooked. In the year 2013 is it really necessary to point out that Jon Stewart is Jewish? Does the fact that Stewart is Jewish somehow confirm Trumps argument that he is smarter than Stewart?
Someone really needs to tell Donald Trump that being Jewish isnt a bad thing, but that being a disgusting bigot is.

(7,720 posts)not use his real name? That is not an anti-semitic question. I can understand why an entertainer would anglicize their name years ago, but in this day an age, when we had a Jewish vice-presidential candidate? By the way, until reading this post I was unaware of Jon Stewart's religious affiliation.

(25,667 posts)and he is 50. I wonder about actors starting out now if they still feel the need to anglicize their names. I have a rather ethnic east European surname so I guess the question interests me more than maybe others.

(12,645 posts)I think it's a combination of avoiding misspellings/mispronunciations and making sure people don't think 70-year-old CPA when they hear your name. If you're an up-and-coming young comedian, these are not small considerations.
Then again, Stewart has been in show biz for awhile now; in an age where a president can wear the name Barack Obama with pride, it's possible he wouldn't have changed it if he was just breaking in today.

What's ridiculous about Trump's tweet is that he's highlighting Stewart's Jewishness, as if Stewart has tried to hide it.

(7,720 posts)Donald Trump is his hair. Does he wear that mop like Samson? Is he afraid he would lose all of his wealth and fame if he had it styled into something that is not ridiculous?
