Editor's note: This article earlier referenced a report from the Associated Press that Gov. Scott Walker would be appearing at the North Carolina Republican Party Convention in June. The Walker campaign has said it declined an invitation to attend that event.
David Catanese puts it this way: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker
is emphatically, undoubtedly running for president until the day he utters he isnt.
The veteran political reporter, who recently set up a website devoted to handicapping contenders in the next presidential election, The Run 2016, cites Walkers aggressive travel schedule as the clearest indication of his White House ambitions:
Walker actually tops the field (of likely GOP candidates) in announced events for the month of May with three in Connecticut, New York and Iowa. The first-term GOP governor elected twice due to an unsuccessful recall is going everywhere which is smart, because his name barely registers in early polling.
In Connecticut on May 20 Walker will be the keynote speaker at the Prescott Bush Awards Dinner, which a local newspaper described as the state Republican Partys largest annual event.
The next day in New York City he will be taking part in a $1,000 per-person private luncheon fundraiser for the New York State Republican Party.
