CONFIRMED: Fox News Hack James Rosen Is A Political Operative, Not A Journalist
Last edited Fri May 24, 2013, 10:04 AM - Edit history (1)
The First Amendment holds a place of unique reverence in the hearts of Americans. Rather than focusing on a single issue, its authors packed it with critical constraints on the federal government that encompass rights pertaining to speech, association, religion, and the press. It is a mouthful of freedom that justifiably deserves special attention. However, like everything in the Constitution, it is not absolute and it requires interpretation to be understood and implemented.
With regard to recent events concerning Fox News, and its alleged reporter James Rosen, the question as to whether there was a violation of the First Amendments freedom of the press has roiled the media and spurred condemnation from across the political spectrum. However, no matter what one thinks about the propriety of a government agency examining the phone records of a purported journalist, James Rosen does not deserve to regarded as one.
In the governments affidavit supporting their request for a search warrant, a passage in the document reveals that Rosen had stepped far outside the boundaries of journalism. His activities were those of a political operative with a specific agenda that was openly hostile to the official foreign policy of the United States. And Rosen pursued that agenda with an intent to obtain classified materials that he knew was impermissible for him to possess.

DOJ Document Reveals Fox News Reporter James Rosen Wanted To Impact U.S. Foreign Policy - Mediaite
Ever since a Monday Washington Post article revealed that the Department of Justice investigation into a national security leak included searches of Fox News reporter James Rosens email and phone records, the media has been focused on fluffing up comparisons of that case with the unfolding Associated Press leak investigation. Lost amid the hype and hysteria over the searches was the actual content of the emails between Rosen and his alleged source, then-State Department contractor Stephen Jin-Woo Kim. In those emails, now confirmed to be from Rosen, the Fox News Reporter reveals his noble intentions for seeking secret information from Kim.
The Justice Department investigation stems from an alleged leak that appeared in this 2009 Fox News article by James Rosen:
Whats more, Pyongyangs next nuclear detonation is but one of four planned actions the Central Intelligence Agency has learned, through sources inside North Korea, that the regime of Kim Jong-Il intends to take but not announce once the Security Council resolution is officially passed, likely on Friday.
Ordinarily, Fox News would be among the first people to tell you that we dont tip off our enemies that we have sources deep within their governments. In fact, James Rosen would be the first to tell you that, in the same article:

(15,438 posts)I never doubted that Rosen was a political hack in journalist's clothing. But this takes away any doubt.

(91 posts)I support every leak, espionage and "crime" against the military industrial complex and his minions in the government. That's why i support Wikileaks, the outing of Fox News of the Navy Seal who wrote "No Easy Day" and distribute the blueprints of the 3d gun the US State Department wants to stop.
I even wrote an email to the White House to put me on the No Fly List and ban me for life to enter the USA.
Everybody that supports Obama's "War on Journalism" is on the same level like the people who killed Kennedy.
JFK wanted to warn the people about this conspiracy against the american people. And that's why he was killed.
"President John F. Kennedy was well aware that a Secret government existed as far back as 1961. As you listen to this speech he even says that there is a Vast monolithic and ruthless conspiracy waiting to take America over that includes the military, intelligence agencies and a trojan horse government in hiding. He then asks members of the press which he was addressing that day to inform the American people of this conspiracy."

BTW you responded to your own post. Just to let you know you could have edited your own post to add something. It makes a thread easier to read for everyone.

(53,758 posts). . . their activities (and some consider what Rosen did illegal) expose undercover operatives, disrupt an entire intelligence operation and put lives of many people in a foreign country in danger who worked with said operative?
"What I'm interested in, as you might expect, is breaking news ahead of my competitors." These are his words in an email trying to obtain internal State Dept. documents.
He did this to "scoop" other reporters. But journalists know where the line is and whether to cross it. He crossed it willing and eagerly to break the news ahead of his competitors. What he revealed wasn't "news" it was, as I said earlier, the cover of an undercover operative.
So this so-called scandal the repugs are grunting and snorting and reveling in is really about a rogue reporter who pulled a Dick Cheney/Scooter Libby.

(8,244 posts)Who considers what Rosen did illegal?
brush
(53,758 posts). . . you blow the cover of a undercover operative, I'd say that was illegal, maybe even bordering on the "T" word. Why do you think many people were calling for Chaney's head when he and Libby blew Valerie Plame's cover? Yeah, really. There's a line not to cross when you're journalist. It's not Watergate where reporters uncovered a two bit burglary meant to help a crooked president get re-elected. This little operation of Rosen's put many lives in danger, all for a "scoop" ahead of competitors.

Their mission is to destroy one political party and promote another, a far cry from journalism. Doing a 24/7 Republican campaign ad has never been considered journalism, nor should it be. Pox and the radical extremists it supports are anti American and have worked in the past to overthrow a duly elected Democratic president, Bill Clinton, and they're doing it again.
May I suggest water boarding the whole lot of them. After all, water boarding isn't torture according to Pox Propaganda Network.
