Darrell Issa's Traveling Obamacare Hearings Exclude ACA Supporters

I guess we shouldn't be surprised by Issa's exclusion of witnesses who have benefitted from the law. Afterall, House Republicans excluded women from the earlier hearing on contraception: http://www.thenation.com/blog/166311/republican-hearing-contraception-no-women-allowed

Residents were angry because Issa picked the five witnesses that we will hear from, all residents of North Carolina.

Allison Ward will NOT be among them. A proponent of the ACA, she wrote this letter to Issa, saying "I want to testify for one reason. I cannot do this by myself. I cannot afford healthcare."

"I haven't heard any word back," Ward says.

And she probably won't. A representative from Issa's office says all speakers had to be vetted in advance...that the format tomorrow will not be a town hall...that they're trying to keep the hearing short - about two hours.

It must be difficult for Issa these days. As a member of Congress from California, where the state-operated health care exchange is demonstrating better than anticipated performance thus far, his so-called staff can only muster a handful of ACA naysayers from another state. Speakers had to be "vetted", one of them says? or is screened the more correct term, guaranteeing that the impending kangaroo court travelling roadshow is 100% one-sided. But hey, let's be fair -- they want to keep it short. Short on facts, that is.
