(quite wrongly, as it turns out) that the snakes had been de-venomized or at least "milked".....

Then one day, as I stood in front of the assembled crowd, one of the cobras got out and was making a beeline towards us. I heard a young Indian policeman gasp and start running, and lo and behold, I came to the realization.....

May this young girl not pay the ultimate price for her fearlessness....

In Miami, Bill Haast, the owner of the Miami Serpentarium, had been bitten so many times that he built up immunity to snake bites. In fact, his blood was used as an anti-venom.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Haast

William E. "Bill" Haast (December 30, 1910 – June 15, 2011[1]) was the director of the Miami Serpentarium Laboratories, a facility near Punta Gorda, Florida, which produces snake venom for medical and research use.[2] Haast extracted venom from venomous snakes from the time he was a boy. From 1947 until 1984, he operated the Miami Serpentarium, a tourist attraction south of Miami, Florida, where he extracted venom from snakes in front of paying customers.[3]
Haast physically extracted venom from venomous snakes by holding them by the head and forcing them to strike a rubber membrane covering a vial. As a result of handling these snakes, Haast had been bitten 172 times as of mid-2008.[4]

From what I've read from googling this girl, she's been bitten multiple times - she probably does have one hell of an immune response to cobra venom.

She should sell her blood to make antivenom - she could probably make a lot of money that way.

Nice that she is fearless and likely has reared many wild animals as pets, but some day her luck may just run out...I hope not...

that's one of the first things I thought of. And if she can train them to go get bad people...

And that Tippi, reminds me of my childhood, I wandered in the forest every day alone and had lots of wild animal friends. Of course I wasn't on that continent but we had bears, other predators, snakes an potentially ornery large ungulates as well that were just as much a danger under certain circumstances.

I wonder what both of those girls will be like when they are adults.
