Fluoride Fight: The forced drugging of society

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Tx4obama (a host of the Video & Multimedia forum).

TRANSCRIPT AND SOURCES: http://www.corbettreport.com/?p=7144

Scientific studies have linked fluoridation of the water supply to lowered IQs, increased risk of cancer, and bone disease, amongst other conditions. So why do we still fluoridate? As researchers like Anthony Gucciardi warn, fluoridation may in fact only be the thin edge of the wedge when it comes to forced medication of the population. This is the GRTV Backgrounder on Global Research TV.

While u are at it, you can tell me whats so crazy about the information contained in the video I posted. Do that instead of trying to attack the messenger.

Where he relentlessly harpooned the John Birch Society -- the 1950's version of the most radical of the tea party -- who portrayed fluoridation as a communist plot.

BTW, whether you are aware of this history or not, fluoridation is neither a communist plot, nor a health risk.

So far only personal attacks and criticism of the source but not of any of the claims.

A little Googling shows that the publishers were anti-flouride, then supported flouride, now support changes in how flouride is administered.

But I guess these people must be rednecks.

Water fluoridation is a peculiarly American phenomenon. It started at a time when Asbestos lined our pipes, lead was added to gasoline, PCBs filled our transformers and DDT was deemed so “safe and effective” that officials felt no qualms spraying kids in school classrooms and seated at picnic tables. One by one all these chemicals have been banned, but fluoridation remains untouched.

For over 50 years US government officials have confidently and enthusiastically claimed that fluoridation is “safe and effective.” However, they are seldom prepared to defend the practice in open public debate. Actually, there are so many arguments against fluoridation that it can get overwhelming.

To simplify things it helps to separate the ethical from the scientific arguments.

For those for whom ethical concerns are paramount, the issue of fluoridation is very simple to resolve. It is simply not ethical; we simply shouldn’t be forcing medication on people without their “informed consent”. The bad news is that ethical arguments are not very influential in Washington, DC unless politicians are very conscious of millions of people watching them. The good news is that the ethical arguments are buttressed by solid common sense arguments and scientific studies which convincingly show that fluoridation is neither “safe and effective” nor necessary. I have summarized the arguments in several categories:

to put this chemical in water. Whatever it's supposed to do for your teeth.

We have chlorination to kill bacteria, but we don't really need fluoridation. (They don't do this in other countries).

Check this out:

http://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/oral-care/procedures/fluoride.htm

Fluoridation to water is regarded as a simple measure to improve public health. It is thought that adding fluoride helps strengthen the enamel of teeth, preventing decay, cavities and tooth loss. This measure was endorsed by the American Medical Association in 1951 and by the American Dental Association in 1953 [Source: Coffel]. Questions are now increasing in regards to the safety of such a program. Fluoride is generally assumed to protect tooth enamel. It may also increase bone density, but it does not decrease fracture risk [Source: Banting]. In fact, fluoride may actually weaken the bones [Source: Limeback, Phipps]. Fluoride is also known to cause a cosmetically damaging effect called fluorosis, a staining of the teeth that experts say does not attribute to any physical problems. The National Institutes of Mental Health did suggest that fluoride damaged teeth may cause psychological and behavioral problems [Source: Coffel]. This problem has a significantly higher rate of occurrence if fluoride supplements are used in the first six months of life [Source: Pendrys]. Fluoride may affect dietary allergies and protein digestion and intolerance [Source: Butler]. Fluoride has also been linked to symptoms of stomach pain and indigestion [Source: Gupta]. Unfortunately, this means that many people may be experiencing digestive problems due to fluoride and have no idea what the problem is. This leads to further medication and doctor visits to treat symptoms while the underlying problem persists. Fluoride may also damage joints, connective tissue, the brain and the testicles [Source: Navak, Giachini].

so people can decide for themselves if they want fluoride in their mouth or
not, and even if they do, they get to spit it out, not swallow the damn stuff.

Geez this isn't rocket science. fluoride is a known toxic industrial waste.

but I do know my personal experiences. The water in my town while I was a child did not have fluoride, every molar in my mouth had one or two cavities at every dental visit.....my mouth is full of fillings. Then they added fluoride, and I never had another cavity from about age 10.

When I moved to Houston at age 25, the water was not fluoridated. I started to have cavities at every dental visit. I even had fluoride to rinse with daily but it didn't stop cavities. This went on for three years, then they also added fluoride. I have not been in a place without fluoride since, and I have not had another cavity.

I believe that fluoride added to drinking water does prevent cavities, based on my experience, which is all I have to go on. It may have been other factors, I cannot know for sure, but it seems pretty convincing evidence to me. And I believe that if it was so hazardous to our health, there would be a lot more people dropping dead.
