They passed the TARP on the 2nd go 'round despite stratospheric levels of NO!!!! from Americans.

Didn't matter, it was as if we had not said a word.

11. Notice the way the media presents it?

They say it lost 54 to 46 and make it a point to mention Democrats control the Senate.

Makes it sound like the vote was 54 AGAINST.

14. Why can't Senate Dems force the R's to actually filibuster??
Thu Apr 18, 2013, 03:10 PM

Don't Dems realize that every hour they force those asshats to stand in open forum and defend a vote against improved backgrounds is an hour digging their own grave? Furthermore Dems would be seen as having to endure it, not unlike protesters, and the actual filibuster would get tremendous publicity.

Reid's strategy to "precave" to every threatened filibuster (except Rand Paul!) is eeirie.

of representative democracy which has a bicameral legislature with 535 members and gives legislative veto power to 41 members of one chamber and is abetted by the majority in getting away with it even when the overwhelming majority of the electorate oppose such behavior. If that is a representative government, the only honest question can be to ask who it represents.

If we can at least get a reasonable moderate with a chance of winning, it would be a huge step up above this corporate pig.

18. The basic problem here is that we are allowing 46% of the Senate to control the Senate.
