support him. Always seems just enough to scuttle the issue. Funny that! And they refused to fix the filibuster. Makes one think that maybe the Democrats (a good share) dont want to support the 99% but are happy blaming the Republicans for the failures.

It's refreshing, not to mention extremely rare,to hear a rethug speak a truth, for public consumption, that is not uttered by sheer accident.

That's gotta be a near once in a lifetime event.

No matter what happens and regardless of the facts, there are those who blame the president FIRST, even though Republicans like Toomey and Graham let the truth about the GOP's true motives slip from time to time.

Nobody voted for or against the bill, they voted against cloture. The bill had the majority and would have passed. It's amazing to hear "the bill was defeated by a majority vote." Our Republic disappearing before our very eyes.

If Romney were president right now, he'd have no problem getting another AWB and background checks passed, because the Republicans wouldn't knee-jerk against him since he was "one of their own."

The only reason there is so much obstruction is because its a Democrat in the White House. It's all about not being seen as cooperating with him, in any way.

Obama could propose privatizing Social Security like many of them want, and they'd still all knee-jerk and vote against it, just because he has a 'D' after his name.

But they prefer to squander the opportunity and let people suffer because of petty spite.

They are irresponsible children who should never be allowed to touch an elected position.

I'd like to say 'well, duh, senator' in response to his observations. But, more likely, it takes alot of courage to operate with integrity in the cesspool of right wing politics in WDC today.
