Our Union flew many of us to NOLA immediately after Katrina. It was a war-zone. There was no organizations in place to help the poor and/or elderly. I spent a year there. I met some of the best people (survivors) imaginable. The suffering and deaths were preventable in many cases. A year later, the poor who survived Katrina and bush were displaced. Their homes still destroyed and untouched. The gentrification was in full swing while the 9th ward still looked like a war-zone. Martial law was enforced by contractors for Homeland Security. They were well paid, unkempt bullies that were a step below the "criminal element" they were to control.
It was a hellish place. Yet the survivors who stayed were terrific people (mostly) who had obviously been suffering serfdom long before Katrina.

This kind of post propaganda is tantamount to child abuse! Bush knew memories would fade; and that with enough money $$$$ "History" could simply be rewritten.
