It seems to me that every few decades, there is someone or something out in our humane societies that say, wait. Stop. Accumulation of material objects is NOT going to mean one damn thing when you are long gone and dead. Do you really care that some rich bastards got richer? Do you really care that he died owning billions, millions, zillions? No one but his immediate family gives a flying F*ck that he managed to accumulate more crap then Caesar when he's long dead and buried. But... suppose we could start recording the good a person did for others? Suppose we measured the value of a person NOT by the crap they were able to cheat someone out of, but by the good they did, the lives they saved, the people they made happy.
I seem to remember a guy named Jesus who said something about love, and there are others too, every few decades. Despite the greed and corruption stinking up the world, every now and then, someone comes along and talks about the value of life and love. So here we go again. Enjoy the ride.
