(826 posts)says a lot of what I have read and learned. Psychopaths aren't always criminal but they do lack sympathy and empathy for the results of their actions. The rest of us care and that makes us a target and victim.

(1,474 posts)I started to study this subject about eight years ago, and there is no doubt in my mind.
Once you know what to look for, you will not have any problems seeing it, because their influence is everywhere.
But psychopaths (not to be confused with sociopaths) would never get into positions of power, if not for their idol worshiping - Right Wing Authoritarian Followers - who will never see the behavior of their leader in a negative light.
So when the psychopath leader does something evil, the follower will say, "Hmmm... This must be some kind brilliant strategy. He/she is just playing a game of ten dimensional chest in order to defeat our enemies."
What luck for rulers that men do not think. Adolf Hitler
Many researchers tend to agree that the best way to get psychopaths out of power is to educate the population.
Unfortunately, when you try to educate Authoritarian Followers, they will treat you like the enemy, evidenced throughout history by their cries to censor, and kill the intellectuals.

Not having a conscience allows them the ability to sell the opposite of truth as being the truth.
And they tell their lies with such charisma, confidence, and false expertise, that most honest people will never suspect that their reality, and beliefs are being manipulated by a predator that sees things like conscience, and humanity as a weakness that is easily exploited.

(8,559 posts)... that psychopaths do run the world, and I believe it is, what do you expect will be their solution/answer for the myriad serious problems now facing humanity as a direct result of overpopulation? And are these "solutions" not already being implemented?

(1,474 posts)But you can be absolutely certain that they will do something!
Somethings can play out slowly over time, such as the never ending war on terror, which is a war of terror.
But then, things like war and genocide have been the traditional means of population control for thousands of years, but I think that psychopaths have figured out that to much overt war making can lead to serious blow back and loss of control.
So in today's World, the war makers are much more covert. And thanks to technology, they can supply the weapons, and stir up a multitude of hornets nest around the World, and just sit back and watch the killing off of the herd from a distance.
And then there's the genetically modified foods that could solve the problems of over population, through starvation. Making food plants with terminator seeds, so the plants cant reproduce. Now that's a great idea! And making plants with its own pesticide might also sound like a great idea, except it kills off the good insects with the bad insects. But then, when plants are designed to self terminate, who needs honey bees.
And then there's the problem with animals that eat genetically modified foods, sterilizing whole populations could have a definite effect on over population. google search third generation gmo foods
And then there is the chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons that are all prepared and ready to go at a moments notice.
So to answer your question of over population. Yes they do have solutions, and yes some of these solutions are already in play, and some are waiting to be played. As to how bad it will get, the place and time... That all remains to be seen, but the sad truth is that the worst is yet to come.
