Bushco however...
A letter from Thomas Young
The incident turned Young into one of the most vocal veteran critics of the Iraq War. He has, however, saved his most powerful criticism for what he claims will be his last. Young says he'll die soon, but not before writing a letter to Bush and former Vice President Cheney on the 10th anniversary of the Iraq War.
From Young's letter, published on TruthDig:
I write this letter, my last letter, to you, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. I write not because I think you grasp the terrible human and moral consequences of your lies, manipulation and thirst for wealth and power. I write this letter because, before my own death, I want to make it clear that I, and hundreds of thousands of my fellow veterans, along with millions of my fellow citizens, along with hundreds of millions more in Iraq and the Middle East, know fully who you are and what you have done. You may evade justice but in our eyes you are each guilty of egregious war crimes, of plunder and, finally, of murder, including the murder of thousands of young Americansmy fellow veteranswhose future you stole.

Where was your outrage Darrell... where? You are a stupid mindless bastard, as is the rest of your party. You lost your souls. I sincerely hope you all rot in hell!

That letter from Thomas Young to the bush and cheney is one for eternity regarding the feeling of so many Americans whether they were in that war on Iraq or not.

(13,616 posts)But even I would say this pic is in bad taste, as there are many MJ smokers here who would never be as stupid as the GOP, even if they tried to beat out Cheech and Chong, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and the remaining members of the Grateful dead.

(45,319 posts)I wonder if the usually precise with of Earl G would care to address the reason he ascribes a bong to one of the most ardent anti cannabis Republicans?
Here is an article about Issa opposing medical marijuana in 2009:
"Escaping any real media attention last week was the formulation of a new anti-marijuana caucus in the House of Representatives. As reported in Roll Call on July 13, a press conference was held with former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL), Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Darrell Issa (R-CA) that seeks to re-commit the Congress to the status quo of fighting a war on drugs.
The photograph displayed on Roll Call (which is a subscription publication) of the press conference prominently featured an anti-medical marijuana prop (made from a shoe box).
Heard on the Hill: Issa clutched a prop, a box that represented a shipment of medical marijuana. On the box was the handwritten phrase Medical Rx and a drawing of a pot leaf.
The members of this new anti-cannabis caucus in the Congress are: Dan Burton (R-IN), Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Jim Jordan (R-OH), John Mica (R-FL), Aaron Schock (R-IL), Mark Souder (R-IN) and Michael Turner (R-OH)."

Satire is only funny when it is true. The medical marijuana movement supported Obama's election twice. Issa is a Christian and an opponent of any sort of marijuana reform.
It's like you East Coasters don't really understand who and what Issa is. And that is frightening.
