Where I realized the major vector of America's movement on issues in the last 15 years ago has been toward less government intervention on all fronts, economic and social. I almost reached for my tinfoil hat, it seemed like the direction we're moving in is independent of what any one elected in DC is advocating for...
But what I look at Gitmo, I realize my tinfoil hat isn't enough. I need something lined with lead. Here's the basic facts:
1) Its a prison camp, where the people have never been tried for their crimes, in communist Cuba, the only country US has repeatedly condemned as the totalitarian state in the western hemisphere.
2) It costs US taxpayers almost a million dollars per inmate, factors of magnitude larger than US prisons.
3) The people there are receiving forced medical treatments ordered by the government: being intuberated to force food down their throats to prevent their attempts to kill themselves, all on the taxpayers dime. And they haven't been charged with a crime.
4) The inmates there are subject to S&M style sexual humiliation techniques

that while though undoubtedly titillating to some, have questionable value in gaining intelligence. The people who execute these sex games are paid for their thrills from the million dollars a year being taken from taxpayers. This is what government is capable of.
And this, this, is that which bucks the trend of less government on all fronts. This wasteful sexual torture pit is the face of the "resistance" to the eradication of US federal government, this absolute steaming turd, this embarrassment.
If there is any one in DC who values government at all, whether Democrat or Republican, they should be rushing to shut this monstrosity down. Only then will I be able to take off my tinfoil hat.
PEace!
