Mike Papantonio, Ring of Fire Radio, joins Thom Hartmann. President Obama gave a huge speech at the National Defense University in which he described in detail his policies towards drones, Guantanamo Bay, and counterterrorism in general. Is this the beginning of the end of the War on Terror?

In addition to the assault on press freedom that his wiretapping policies poses and has done this so routinely that he can't remeber how many wiretaps have been authorized on his watch, Mr. Holder has failed to prosecute fraud by Wall Street banks. Lanny Breuer, Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, made one lame excuse after another for not prosecuting the Wall Street fraudsters who crashed the world economy, collected huge bailouts from the tax payers and then went back to the same vile and fraudulent practices that brought the world economy down in the first place. Breuer came to the Justice Department from the Wall Street firm Covington and Burling, where he gave legal assistance to the Wall Street criminals he didn't prosecute, and to where he returned in March so he can continue giving his services to Wall Street bankers, just like he did during his tenure at the Justice Department.
I don't know if Breuer broke any laws during his tenure at Justice, but as far as I'm concerned, regardless of whether he actually broke any laws, he's corrupt. Money doesn't talk, as Bob Dylan said, it screams.
What does this say about Eric Holder? As the Attorney General, he's responsible for everything Breuer did -- or didn't do -- when he was Holder's assistant.
