Papantonio: Eric Holder Destroying Obama Presidency

The following interview originally aired on the May 26th episode of Ring of Fire on Free Speech TV. Part of Obama’s corporatist problem is that he appointed an attorney general who is completely in the pocket of big business. And with all of the recent scandals surrounding his Department of Justice, it’s time for President Obama to finally dump Eric Holder. Ring of Fire host Mike Papantonio discusses Eric Holder’s horrible record with attorney Seth Katz.

A lot of really bad, bad, appointments. Some good ones as well, to be fair. And better than any Romney would have appointed.

in those appointments (and damn right Romney's or any repub's would be far worse, although Holder and Duncan are pretty bad). On a personal level, I think I've mentioned here before that the chief of President Obama's transition team was a good friend way back in our undergrad days (haven't had any contact with him in probably close to 40 years though). A great guy, and someone with a very keen intellect as well as social conscience and awareness. So it pains me to think he was intimately involved in these selections. I hold out hope that he was pulling for more progressive voices but was over-ruled, but I suppose that's wishful thinking since he was the Chief of the team. It was when these cabinet nominations were announced that my worst fears about Obama began to be confirmed. Yes, he's done a lot of good things; yes, a repub would be a genuine disaster and thank God it's Obama instead of McCain or Mitt, , but it was at that time that I started wondering what the hell kind of "change " this was. Seemed like business as usual.

One of the deleted posts was about Holders work on part of Chiquita banana. SO...of course I had to wiki it.
Here is what the Wikipedia said:

In 2004, Holder helped negotiate an agreement with the Justice Department for Chiquita Brands International in a case that involved Chiquita's payment of "protection money" to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, a group on the U.S. government's list of terrorist organizations.[22][23] In the agreement, Chiquita's officials pleaded guilty and paid a fine of $25 million. Holder represented Chiquita in the civil action that grew out of this criminal case.[23] In March 2004, Holder and Covington & Burling were hired by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to act as a special investigator to the Illinois Gaming Board. The investigation was subsequently canceled on May 18, 2004.[24]
