(23,156 posts)that those who support guns would themselves lose a loved one to gun violence. Maybe then they'd get it. Or maybe not. More than once I've seen gun apologists here say that 30,000 deaths a year is nothing, really. Acceptable. So I just hope it's acceptable for their daughter, son, cousin, best friend, their loved one to be killed by guns.
And there must be some multiple of that 30,000 who are merely wounded, or maimed by guns. I guess that's okay too. It should only happen to the gun apologists.

(16,974 posts)finger on a cop, so a half dozen of them tazed him and arrested him. But that is alright with some people here. No over reaction there. I think both sides should be able to peaceably be able to assemble and protest.
(I do not wish harm to come to any individual, that is just wrong)

(13,045 posts)That piece of Shit would not get in my face like that,If i have ever seen anybody that need to get tased it was him.
Just Saying
(1,799 posts)All he had to do was cooperate and keep his hands to himself. He mouthed off and continued to act like an idiot when the cops came to talk to him and then he resisted arrest.
I've never been so happy to see someone tazed.
I guess when you act like a heartless asshole and get in the face of a grieving father, bad things happen to you. Instant karma!
Duckhunter935
(16,974 posts)he was peaceful up until the cops were talking to him after he left the area by the microphone.
never said he acted perfect, yep he is a idiot and helped escalate something that already wound down but I do think the cops over reacted.

(8,240 posts)then he resisted arrest. The police showed restraint and handled things pretty well. The abusive bully got what he deserved.
ET Awful
(24,788 posts)He intentionally provoked the police. They attempted to arrest him, he repeatedly resisted and continued to provoke. He then reached for an officer (which is legally an assault on that officer). He received multiple warnings. He then wrestled free of the police and indicate a desire to confront them further. THEN they tased him.
Re-writing what happened to fit your pre-conceived notion won't change what actually happened.

Just Saying
(1,799 posts)But show no respect for anyone else's rights. These people lose loved ones to gun violence and they deserve to express their 1st amendment rights without being bullied or intimidated.
This is a situation where responsible gun owners should stand up and say people like that don't represent me. The fact that advocates for guns seem to be angry and aggressive doesn't build confidence that they should be armed.

(32,723 posts)Gun nuts always act like they are going to shoot anyone who disagrees with them.
Then you've got the real nuts who honestly believe they can take on the cops.

(6,891 posts)they'd know that the 2nd Amendment is called that because there is one before it. This teabagger is the kind of obnoxious dumb fuck who is proud to send his kids to war and thinks authority worshiping bullies and assholes like himself are the only real Americans. He got a taste of the authority he worships. I doubt he liked it. It must have been a shock to discover the same police system that roughs up dirty fucking hippies was more than willing to body slam him too.
WhoIsNumberNone
(7,875 posts)The dumbass teabagger who posted the second video on YouTube has made this an ironclad case for the cops.
RVN VET
(492 posts)He'll drink free in the local gun-nut bars for the rest of his life in will be storied about as a 2nd amendment hero. He provoked the cops deliberately -- and you can tell by the look on the first cop's face that Redshirt had already pissed him off royally. But Redshirt just went on to push and push and push -- finally showing off with the "I ain't puttin' my hands behind my back and you ain't able to make me" routine.
I doubt if the tazing really bothered him much -- and he certainly wouldn't admit it if it did. Like i said, he'll be a hero among the ill bred fools who chose to shout and scream their pretend patriotism in the face of a man who was talking about victims of violence and the need for government to prevent more innocents, like the children of Newtown, like his own daughter, from being slaughtered.
They are all, all of them, vile and contemptible. Redshirt is just their apotheosis. He represents the ignorance, the contempt for decency, the loathing for the peacemakers that that entire crowd applauds and preaches.
Again, I wish I believed there was a hell deep enough, hot enough, and desolate enough of hope for Redshirt and all of his cacophonic crowd of brainless, heartless shells of humanity to rot in.

(29,047 posts)but I still think the police over reacted.

(9,141 posts)I felt Police were being too polite...shold have arrested man in green jacket also for kicking object next to police when they were taking man down. All the heckling and for what...to disrupt an event which would have gotten less attention if their presence were absent. Just stupid tough guy wanna bes. You could tell this guy was a bully cause he dared them to try to put his hand behind his back..."I'm too strong...I'll show you" Thought he could intimidate the cop by putting his paws on him cause the law doesn't apply to him since might makes right. And the guy in green screaming "He didn't hurt nobody" Ha-ha. You mean not physically...such tough guys.
Who can you imagine would find this guy likable or justified or respectable or anything other than an as##ole without a cause?
