Gulliver's Travels. The Yahoos were humans in the land of the noble, rational, decent Houyhnhnms. (I am misspelling that, but I can'tgoogle it on my Nook w/o losing this message.)

The humans (the Yahoos) were despised by the Huoynims, who were intelligent horses, because the humans were filthy, vicious, uncivilize, and disgusting animals that exhibited no sign of intelligence. That is why calling someone a Yahoo is an insult.

Edited to fix typo in subject line and to correct spelling of Houyhnhnms.

White House doesn’t have ‘figure on costs’ of Africa trip

Rachel Rose Hartman
South Africa

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the president's birthplace.

President Barack Obama makes the first extended trip to Africa of his presidency next week—but he won't be stopping in his ancestral homeland.

Obama's weeklong trip—June 26-July 3—which he's taking with his wife, Michelle, and daughters Sasha and Malia, as well as with members of his economic and trade team, is to signal America's interest in trade, democracy and economic development in Africa. He will visit Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.

"We see Africa as one of the most important emerging regions in the world," deputy national security adviser for strategic communications Ben Rhodes told reporters on a conference call Friday. He added that the administration sees "growing economic opportunities [in the continent] for increased trade and investment" by U.S. businesses.

The trip will also focus on "democracy and democratic institution-building," Rhodes said.

Honesty?
Integrity?
Informative?
Un-biased?
30 years ago this was mostly true before the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine.
Now the media is state run Pravda by one of five corporations who also happen to run the government.
That Obama guy is just a scapegoat in the grand scheme of fascist totalitarianism, this is fairly easily accepted.
What is not so easily embraced is the joy that he seems to take in kowtowing to the mighty Templars while wiping clean the muck from the fetlocks of their might chargers as they rain spittle from on high.

Since he doesn't fight back how can anyone else be blamed for this?
A lie remains the accepted truth until it is banished to the ages of ridiculosity.

Then, they seemed to turn on a dime, even though people had polled in favor of it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

In fairness (no pun intended), Obama had said he opposed it while running for President in 2008.

In related news, Obama's first nominee for FCC chair had been responsible for creation of Fox Broadcasting Company and it was conservative radio broadcasters who seemed most opposed to the doctrine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_Genachowski

So, it all seems consistent.
