And that, right there, is a fucking problem.

What he has to do AFTER being pulled over is also significant.

Most Americans have NEVER been pulled over, but these folks, due to the color of their skin, have had multiple encounters with police.

When I am pulled over, I know to make my hands visible to the cop.

Putting the cop at ease not only prevents you from being shot, you are also less likely to get a ticket for whatever you were doing that prompted you being pulled over.

I am white and this advise applies to everybody.

Of course putting a cop at ease is good advice for everyone but when cops are already unjustly uneasy and suspicious just because of the color of your skin, well...

I would think keeping them on the steering wheel would be best. I think the movement in order to get your hands out the window might make the cop nervous.
