5. I hate to watch this stuff

but you gotta realize - these "cops" are following orders. They may or may NOT like what they're told to do, but what IS the alternatives for them? If they refused, there goes their jobs, their bennies, their retirement. Who's gonna toss that for principles? Think how that would look on their resumes if they tried to find police work elsewhere?

I'm not defending what they're doing. Their orders come from on high.
